Official Spotting Locations
Visitors Terrace
The official Visitors Terrace is located in the Terminal Building between Departures 1 and Departures 2 on the upper floor. There is free entry and you have a good look over the apron. The Terrace is facing north, so no backlight problems, but unfortunately you'll have to spot through glass.

Other Spotting Locations
Runway 10 Final Approaches
If Runway 10 is in use, there is a very good possibility to spot the incoming aircraft at the Irrhainstraße at Almoshof. You can reach the place from the interstate B4 or from the village of Almoshof - just follow the fence of the airport. You can park your car in a field trek. If you choose to go there by bus (Line 30 and 29), you'll have to get of the bus at "Am Wegfeld". There is a very small hill, very you can get perfect shots. (This place can also be used when runway 28 is in use; but the aircraft are pretty high in most cases.)

Runway 28 Final Approaches
You can reach this place from Ziegelstein (there is a subway station of line U2) by using the road Ratsbergstraße. There is a hill with some seating possibilities, but unfortunately you'll face sun nearly the entire day. If you want to spot into northern direction some metres more south, you won't see the arriving aircraft for long. You can enhance this situation by walking next to the airport fence into western direction, but you'll have to spot through the fence. Altogether this place is not comparable to Runway 10 Final.

Taxiway to runway 10
You can reach this place by following the Irrhainstraße from the Runway 10 Final spot into eastern direction next to the airport fence. Here you can shot pictures of aircraft, that taxi to runway 10 and of aircraft touching down on runway 10.
Taxiway to runway 28
You can reach this place within 15 minutes from the airport building by foot (only by foot!). Just take the small way next to the Cargo Center (on the right of the Cargo Center) until you you cross a bridge next to a small lake. There you'll have to go to the forest in northern direction, until you reach the airport fence. There you can very good pictures of aircraft which taxi very close to you to runway 28. This place is not recommended in bad weather conditions.
