Official Spotting Locations

Observation Deck

Open 06.30 to 20.30 admission 4 Zloty (about 1 EUR).

Entry is via a security check at ground level outside the terminal building adjacent to the domestic check in area. The viewing deck occupies the roof of the terminal building and faces south west and is therefore best for photography in the mornings.

However due to the opening hours night photography with a tripod is possible during the darker months of the year. Due to security reasons going through the security with a tripod may be a problem. Officialy tripods are not allowed on the observation deck.

There is no shelter on the roof except for a small area adjacent to the stairs and toilets and there are no outlets selling food and drinks. As re-entry will involve another security check and paying again it is best to obtain supplies from the shops in the terminal building before going up.

In the sunny day, just after 10AM all the pictures will suffer from backlight.

Facilities and Transportation

There is a restaurant in the main terminal building serving resonably priced Polish food and non alcoholic drinks. Outside the Etudia Terminal used by the low cost airlines there is a tent serving beer, coffee and sandwiches. The Marriot hotel at the airport has some very low weekend rates.

There are two bus lines (175 and 188) departing from both terminals. with those bus lines getting to the Warsaw Centre takes from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic conditions.

In the next 2-3 years there will be an rail road connection with the Warsaw Central station.
