Trivandrum International Airport is an international airport in the state of Kerala, India. It is located 4 km west of Trivandrum city.

The airport was established in 1932. It was upgraded to an international airport in 1991, making it the first such airport in India outside the metropolitan cities.

There is a viewing gallery on the upper level of both the International and domestic terminals. In accordance with DGCA rule, photography may be permitted in the Terminal for passengers with a valid ticket.

Other Spotting Locations

All Saint's College area

There are a few locations with a very limited view on take-off of aircrafts around the All Saint's College area around the compound of the airport. At the south end of the airport, there is a bridge on the main road where the runway is visible.

As spotting is not common here, people might find it strange and can be questioned by the Police of your intentions. So, it is advisable to have some sort of document with you, to show the legality, especially if you are taking pictures.

Locations to Avoid

Shanghumugham area

The west end of the airport especially at the Shanghumugham area starting from the cargo terminal towards north and east along the airport compound, there are warnings shown prohibiting photography. Photography should be avoided at all places these warnings are displayed as it is illegal to do so.
