Plane Spotting Hotels guide |
Official Spotting Locations
There are no official spotting locations provided at Dublin Airport. The balconies on the original terminal building were closed to the Public in the early 1970s due to the security situation that persisted in Ireland at that time.
Other Spotting Locations
Old Airport Road
There is a layby on the Old Airport Road. It is parallel to the main runway. From here you have an unobstructed view of arriving and departing aircraft and the runway. It can be seen in the bottom left hand corner of this map: Old Airport Rd. viewing point. In 2024, the airport submitted an application to build a dedicated viewing area at the location.
Also you can spot aircraft from The Skyview Bar, they don't normally bother you if you purchase a drink or sandwich now and then.
When runway 10 is in operation there are nice view availbel from the mounds located at the Blue long term carpark.
